  How d I select or assign a “Category” to each post?

  Have you created any categories yet? You can do this at Dashboard -> Manage -> Categories. After they are created, you can add them to your posts on the Write post page along the right hand side.

  Please take a second and look over the FAQ sticky at teh head of these forums. They include links to new users that would probably help you.
