Category “1” !??!

  Every time I realize changes on my blog there appears a new category named “1” which I didn’t create … deleting it doesn’t solve the problem since it appears after every change!

  What to do?

  This typically happens when you delete the default category “uncategorized” but do not choose a different default post category.

  First, click on that category name is your sidebar to make sure no posts are assigned to it. If posts are assigned to it, open those posts and deselect it in the category area under the blue bar at the right.

  After making sure no posts are assigned to it, go to options > writing and in the “default” category pulldown select one of your categories as a default (you can change this when writing posts). Make sure and click save changes.

  Now, go into manage > categories and delete that category.
