  I have two categories on my website one called ‘Just some poetry’ and another called ‘Travel Blog’ however it says ‘Category: Just some poetry’ and ‘category: travel blog’ and I don’t know how to get ride of the ‘category’ text since I do not have an ‘editor’ option under Appearance on my dashboard.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Good Morning – http://www.georgie-bolam.co.uk/ is a self hosted blog that uses WordPress.org. For help with this blog, you will need to post at http://wordpress.org/support.

  There are many differences in WordPress.com (here) and WordPress.org. Those differences are outlined here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  If you need help with a WordPress.com blog, please share the domain here, and I’ll be happy to help you edit the categories.

  Thank for the domain :)

  I only see “Just some poetry” category on your blog. And it simply reads “just some poetry” not “category: just some poetry” I think the “category” is just on your end, only you see that from the dashboard.

  Follow this guide to edit your categories: https://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/categories/

  You can also create a new category, or mark the correct category for a new post when you are in the Edit Post Screen. When you have the post open, find ‘Categories and Tags’ on the left hand menu.

  It is because I momentarily deleted the categories- check now, you will see that it says category.

  You have to click on the ‘just some poetry’ option at the top of the page and then you will see it :)

  Thank you. I see what you are referring to now on your Category Archive Page.

  I took a look at your blog’s CSS and ‘Category: Just Some Poetry’ would be an all or nothing edit. Leave it as is or you could remove the entire section that reads “Category: Just Some Poetry” but you would not be able to remove just ” Category:” Access to CSS is gained by upgrading your user account from a free WordPress.com user account to Premium.

  Alternatively, you can try using a different theme. You can preview your site with different themes here: https://wordpress.com/design/happinessanywhere.wordpress.com
  There are a lot of free themes for you to use on your WordPress.com blog, and you may find one that does not display “Category: Just Some Poetry”
