  Hi Chellephoenix,

  WordPress.com accounts cannot be deleted, but you do have a few options.

  You can make your account inactive by following these steps:
  1. Empty and delete your site
  2. Remove all of your personal information in your account settings
  3. Change your password to a random string of characters

  Once you follow the steps above your account will be inactive and you will not be able to access it.

  If you would like to delete a category, you can do so by going to the Posts -> Categories page in your dashboard. Move your mouse over the category you want to delete and options will appear below the category, click on delete to delete that category.
