Category and update problems

  Today (9/28/14), suddenly I am unable to add one of several categories to a blog post: when I UPDATE, the category disappears from the list that I have selected.

  Also, my UPDATE button is appearing, and disappearing, seemingly at random, so that, on occasion, I have to dump the contents, then exit from and reopen the browser.

  I have tried clearing my cache and my cookies are enabled. I have tried both views of the Post edit page. I have tried rebooting my PC. This difficulty has occurred with both Firefox and Chrome, and I have the current versions installed.

  I’ve never encountered this kind of issue before. HELP!

  I’d like to add that the problem has been replicated on a different computer.

  I would like to further add that I can reinstate the category that goes missing by adding it in the QUICK EDIT feature. If I then have to edit the content of the post, the category disappears again.

  This is extremely mysterious and only happens with one single category, “2014.”

  PLEASE HELP!!!!!
