Category-centric theme

I’m looking for a category focused theme and having a hard time. Basically what I want is a featured article on top reaching from the left to the right side of the page, preferably where I can maybe scroll through a couple featured articles right and left, arrows on either side. Then underneath that three or four columns with categories for each type of article. In the abstract it would be big horizontal rectangle on top for the featured and then 3 or 4 columns going down the page full of squares with articles in them. I’ve been looking through the options and I can’t find anything like that or where you can organize by categories on the first page really at all. Any help would be great. Just upgraded to premium so entirely possible I just don’t know what I’m doing yet. Thank you.
