Category Drop Down Menu Doesn't Work

Hi there. I have Oxygen as a theme for my blog and I have 2 drop down Category Menu, one on my left hand column, and the second one on the middle footer at the bottom of the blog. The one on the left hand column works fine. But when I go to use the one on the bottom footer, it doesn’t work at all. This issue has been on going for at least a couple of months now. I thought that it might fix itself but no luck. The one on the bottom footer still doesn’t work.
I use Google Chrome browser (not sure if this is the cause). Also, I wanted to mention that I have recently changed my blog URL as well as username. But the issue with the Category Menu not working on the bottom footer has been ongoing since prior to the blog URL change and username change.

I’m not seeing any problem in the sourcecode. Maybe the widget is corrupt. Try deleting it then adding a fresh one.

I have done as you suggested several times prior to making this post but nothing changes. The left one works, but the bottom one doesn’t for some reason. So I thought I’d try my luck here to see if there are other ways of resolving this.

As I said, there doesn’t seem to be any problem in the code. I also tried to replicate the exact same situation in my test blog (Oxygen, widget in the 2nd footer widget area etc etc) and the widget works fine.
So the only alternative I can suggest is: create a custom menu in Appearance > Menus and add these categories and subcategories to it, then delete the Categories widget from the footer area, add a Custom Menu widget instead, select the new menu from the widget pulldown, save.
