Category feeds show up weird in Google Chrome

Readers rely heavily on my archives page (http://escapetoreality.org/index/). But if you select any category in the subject index the results show up as a document tree when viewed with Google Chrome. In other words, my blog archives cannot be easily accessed using Chrome. (It all works fine in FF.) I’m sure this must’ve come up before but I can find nothing on it in the Support/Forums.

The list of categories on the “Archives” page you created in your blog all end with /feed/ and so they are linking out to the RSS version of categories instead of the category page. If you remove /feed/ from the end of the URLs in the html editor, that should fix the problem for you.

    Thanks DS,
That solves one problem but creates another. Instead of getting a list of posts for that particular category, I now get only the most recent post – in both FF and Chrome. For instance, I removed /feed/ from the Announcements category and now only the most recent post with an announcement appears when you click the link on the index page.

Perhaps another way to frame the problem is like this: how can I create an index of posts based on categories that works in Chrome as well as FF?

That is happening because you have set the posts to display per page to “1” on your Settings → Reading page. Look for the “Blog pages show at most” option on that page and increase the number if you would like to see more posts per page. Note that setting affects all archive pages including the default home page if you are not using a static front page.

On my dynamic page I do not want more than 1 post to show. On my index pages I don’t want any posts to show – just a list of posts for that particular category.

I guess the only workaround is to put a note on the Archive page telling users not to use Chrome.

The setting for the dynamic page is the same for index pages and category pages and date archived pages. There is not a way to change that. Sorry the exact customization you want isn’t available!

The Archives page works for me in Chrome. The issue with the number of posts per page that will display is the same regardless of browser.
