Category name change

  I have a basic website set up in wordpress.com, and it seems impossible to change the name of a category once it’s been created. I can add a category just fine, but I can’t change the name of one that exists. The instructions in tutorials and forums do not match my options. Is it impossible to change the category names in basic version of wordpress? Thank you.

  Hi there,

  Go here:
  senoraporia.wordpress.com/wp-admin

  Click on posts, then categories. When it opens, you should see the option to edit when hovering over the categories you have showing on the right hand side there.

  Let me know how that goes.

  Thanks so much, Mariah! I guess my issues was not being able to find that admin page. How can I access it without copying and pasting that link?

  You’re most welcome.

  Hover over My Sites in top left corner. Then select WP Admin. It will take you there.

  When you’re on your page, you can just type /wp-admin after your sites URL to get there, too.

  Thanks again. I think that was the problem: when I hover over “My Sites,” all it does is say “view a list of your sites and access their dashboards,” and if I click on that, it brings up a management site that is much different than the admin one.
