Category not appearing on blog
-
I have added a category “travel planning sites” along with to links and they are not appearing. I do have one category “More of my photos” with a link appearing and I’m trying to recall how I did that, but with now success. It’s at the bottom of my blog

You are using your links widget to link to your Flickr page.

(You might take a look at the Flickr widget to see if that interests you:

When you write or edit a post there should be a module called “Categories” where you can add, for example, “travel planning sites.”
Now I’m thinking that you don’t want a list of posts with that category though? Is that right? You are wanting to add a category for links to sites online.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/links-widget/ :Link category: The first dropdown allows you to select which of your links to display. You can choose All Links from all categories, or just links in a specific link category. If you want to display links from multiple categories you can add multiple link widgets, and display a different link category in each one.

I’m making some headway, but now I have the category “More of My Photos” appearing twice. I’m not sure how I did that. Mind boggling.

Why are two “More of My Photos” appearing? And is this area considered “Primary Sidebar” or “Footer Area Three” or both?

Great. And it looks like it’s working very well.
You are right that this platform can be confusing, but part of the difficulty is that it can do so many things you don’t even consider as a new user. A new user can be easily overwhelmed by all the possibilities. Just keep going: a blog or website is never finished—it is always a work in progress.
