Is there a way to set the Categories in my preferred order?

Not on the category widget itself, but you can always make a text widget with the names/links and put them in any order you want.

You have to put the categories in it yourself one by one, and link each one to the local category page it refers to.

Or did you mean on the post itself? You’d have to type them all in yourself along the bottom and link them to the category pages.

Actually, it is not a lot of work.
*Open a new text widgit.
*Type in the URL of the first category you want listed.
*Example:
Conspiracy Theories
*Now add the link code around it.<a href="http://lotgk.wordpress.com/conspiracies/">Conspiracy Theories</a> *Now add a space by typing in*Now add the second category and so on.
*When finished, save your widgit and position it where you want it on your blog and you are done.You can see how this is done on my blog. Just click my screen name and it will take you to my blog. My hand made link categories are on the top left.

Another way:
– Open two windows in your browser: main blog page in the one, visual post editor in the other.
– Drag&drop category names from sidebar to editor (hit return after each one).
– Switch to html, change order, and add this between each link code and the next:

– Highlight everything, copy, paste into text widget. -
