Category Page Format

Since I have a static front page, I wanted to create another page strictly for my blog posts. I created a category called “Blog” and added the category to my Main Menu.

But…when I click Blog on the main site, the title comes up as “Category Archives: Blog.”

How can I alter or get rid of this title? Or will the Elegant Grunge website theme prohibit me from changing it at all?

Thanks a bunch for your help!

  • Hi there. To show all your blog posts on a page, create a regular page titled Blog or Posts or whatever you want. Publish the page, but don’t place any content on it. Then you set that page as your posts page under Settings ->Reading. See here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/

Category pages are for if you want only certain posts from a specific category to show on their own page, in other words, to sort your posts to different pages. The only way you can hide the Category Archives heading on a category page is by editing the theme’s CSS for which you’ll need the custom design upgrade. This applies to all themes, free or premium.
