Category Pages
-
I know how to generate categories on the homepage…but i was wondering if each category can be independent. In the sense if someone clicks on my travel category then i only want them to see my travel post on the right navigation… currenty the right navigation is filled with the exact same things that the homepage is… any way out?

I don’t think it works that way. The categories widget is set with all the categories you have created; you can’t choose which ones it will display. If someone clicks on travel, then all posts with travel will appear… but the category list on the right itself won’t change, if that’s what you mean.
There is one thing you can do. If you select a second categories widget and use that instead, you can tell it in its configuration to “show as a dropdown”. That will hide the categories until people click on it to see them. Makes it a bit neater and they can select travel that way. You could also create a site index page and manually paste links.

That type of functionality can be delivered using WP dot org software and third part hosting. But it requires the templates to be adjusted.
