category pages

  I’ve added my published category pages to my menu but nothing is being filtered onto the pages. is there someone who an help me?

  Hi There-

  Sorry you’re having some trouble with the categories. Have you selected the different types of category for the posts?

  Hi @emjean,

  After taking a look at your blog, it looks you’ve got categories set up and they are being assigned to pages correctly.

  For instance, here’s a category page for “Daily Life” https://cheeksmcgee.wordpress.com/category/daily-life/

  It seems to me the issue may be getting the category pages to show up in your main menu. If this is the case, you will want to be in the menu customizer for this:
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/

  The link above has a good tutorial, but to be a bit more specific, in this case, you are going to want to target the Primary Menu. Then when you’re seeing your menu with the items that are already on it, chose “Add Items”, and then “Categories”. That will get your categories to show up, and then you can reorder the menu items once you have the ones added that you would like.

  @uxcitizen, I’ve done all those things and my category pages are still showing up empty. the blog i’m working on is not live yet. it’s http://www.berryandbubbs.com. I’ve checked and rechecked my work and I can’t seem to figure out why they aren’t filtering in properly. Any advice? Thanks – emily

  Hi there @emjean11,

  I had a look at berryandbubbs.com, and it turns out that’s hosted by Bluehost, which means you are using WordPress.org software. It is not a WordPress.com site — so I can’t see the issue you’re having or give you further advice.

  Here’s more about the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org:

  You can find help in the WordPress.org support forums:

  Another great place to look might be the documentation for the Theme you are using. Theme developers frequently create pages that showcase the details of their themes, and sometimes have their own support forums.
