    The sidebar drop down button on my category section is visible. Is that just from the theme I am using?

    The problem is the length of your some of your categories, which is pushing the drop-down button out of view a bit (and your theme’s sidebar is simply not wide enough for it). Technically, you do not need the button to access the drop-down, but you may want to consider switching to a theme with a wider sidebar.
