Category problem

Recently when I published a blog, I noticed that it is not added to my ‘Categories’ in the main page. To solve this problem, each time I had to go updated my blog.

Example: I have a blog with a Category titled “ABC”. When I published it, there is no “ABC” on the Category sidebar. I have to go back and edit that blog and click on “Update” and wait till the page loads and only then the “ABC” will be displayed at the Category sidebar.

This is getting to be very annoying and it feels like I have to do double work each time I publish my blog.

I hope this can be fixed as soon as possible.

Hi. Have you tried any of the tips here?

Don’t see Categories or Tags and can’t edit posts, no update button. This is happening to two computers 3000 miles apart. Using Firefox but it doesn’t work in Chrome either.

    Thanks

The problem seems to come and go, we were okay yesterday but today tags and categories and publish button are not there. Seems very random, and as I have said, these computers are 3000 miles apart so it must be the WP account that is messed up.What’s a typical response time from staff?

The response time varies as the workload varies. Would you like to try some troubleshooting?

How are you connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com? The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers.

Are you using http:// or https:// see http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

Exactly which which browsers and versions of them are you using? Are those browser versions up to date? You can upgrade any browser version here.

Do you have third party cookies enabled? Do you have another browser you can try?

You can use this link to see if your Flash is up to date. http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ If it’s not up to date then this is where to download and install the latest version of Flash. http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/

Sometimes operating system and/or security system updates can cause problems so check for known issues. When you make adjustments to your browser settings — changing privacy settings, deleting cookies or increasing security firewalls — you will need to close your window and restart the browser before those new settings become effective.
