Category problems can someone help

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi —

I have a WordPress blog at http://www.nuts-about-needlepoint.com. But there is a problem, when you click on any of the categories, a not found is returned.

My host provider suggested it was because I had added things in my theme. So I’ve been trying to see if that will fix it and have done the following:

    1. backed out as many of the changes as I could find. — this didn’t help

    2. changed themes to ones I had just downloaded, this didn’t hep either.

So I have the old them up without the additions.

You have no idea how frustrating this is, and I’ve been in the computer business since 1979 and in the internet business since 1988. My host basically blames me. Things break even when stuff is new and not modified.

I just don’t know what to do or even if I’m asking the right questions.

I see lots of blogs out there which work just fine, but mine seems to have nothing but problems. This is for my business and I’m so frustrated because I can’t build a business with a blog which doesn’t work.

    Could someone please help me?

It’s best to contact me via email at (email visible only to moderators and staff)

You need to be over at wordpress.org as it sounds from your description that you are self-hosted. We don’t download or change the underlying code base on our themes here.

    yep, ask in http://wordpress.org/support

they will probably tell you to go to Options > Permalinks and change your permalink structure temporarily, and then change it back.

be sure to check at the bottom of the page for any error messages.
