Category problems–not updating

  The other day my categories on my site completely messed up. The sub categories disappeared after two weeks of being set a certain way, and everything turned into its own category.

  Now I can’t fix it when I try to. It says “Category not updated” when I try to assign categories again.

  Is there any fix to this?
