Category searches now provide whole posts rather than just previews

When I select a category (e.g. Entry 1) I expect to see just the title and a few lines of each post under that category. Instead, I now get the posts in their entirety (which means lots of scrolling to find what you’re looking for and you can’t get a quick overview of what’s in that category). Interestingly, by typing the category name (e.g. Entry 1) in the search bar, you can still see the result as it should be (just titles, each followed by a the first few lines of post).

Have I inadvertently made some adjustment?

I have tried clearing cookies, changing themes, using different computers. Still the same problem.

Many thanks for your previous and anticipated assistance!

The theme you’re using used to display beginnings only – documented here:
    http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/03/25/full-posts-in-archive-pages/
    Unfortunately WP changed that.

Thanks for your response. Shame about that but at least I know what’s going on. I guess I can sort of get around it by making categories for individual posts I want to give prominence to.
