Category setup……any tips?

Hey everyone-
I am brand new to this blogging stuff. I made categories while setting up my new blog, and now I don’t see them anywhere. I clicked on the “ADD” button, but I still do not know where they are. Any help much appreciated.

The categories you created in your admin area are found under your Admin => Manage => Categories. If you want them to show up in your blog sidebar, you need to go to Admin => Presentation => Widgets and make sure the “Categories” widget is included!

First off, welcome to WordPress.com.
If you go to manage > categories it will bring up a list of the categories you have created. If you have a category widget in your sidebar, the categories will not show up until you have posted something assigned to that category.

Great info thescaredpath! I forgot to say that the categories only show up in the sidebar when you actually have at least one post in them as well!
