Category URL not correct in main page

    Hi,

I´m using the Twenty Ten theme and for some reason the categories i have created is not linking to my blog url “brfjungfrun.wordpress.com/..etc”. They are instead pointing to http://sv.wordpress.com/tag/..etc”.

This is only the case on the main page. While on permalink page or in the menues it´s all good.

Also..the only category this is accutally working on is the default “uncategorized”..all categories added
    by me have above symptoms.

    Any ideas?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Your blog is operating correctly. Only the links in categories and Tags widgets will direct to your content in your own blog. All others displayed, depending on the theme, above, below or next to post will direct to the WordPress.Com global tagging pages.
    See here please > http://en.support.wordpress.com/global-tags/

Note also that if you use the INove theme there are options to suppress Categories and Tags display. On all other themes there are no such options. If this is important to you then you can get a annually renewable paid upgrade and suppress displaying them.

Note also that until you actually publish a post and assign it to a Category or Tag there is no data for the widgets to display. They cannot display “null” data.

If you wish to have a website design and include categories in the horizontal menu bar (black bar in your blog under header) where pages are normally displayed you will need to create a custom menu. What’s important is the differences between pages and posts > http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/

There is only one dynamic page in a blog for posts and we cannot post to more than that one page. But we can create the appearance that we have posted to more than one page.

We organize our posts by assigning Categories to them. When we publish a post it automatically appears on the running page for posts and also on the Categories pages and Archives pages. Note: There must be one published post in each Category in order for there to be anything to display.

A custom menu allows you to display Categories in tabs along the horizontal navigation where normally only Pages tabs are displayed. If you wish you can also include Pages and custom links in your custom menu as well.

    These are the how-to instructions:

How to create Pages > http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/

    1. You create a custom menu. http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/

    2. You add the Categories you want to display and arrange them in the order you want.

    3. Then you add and drop and drag the sub-categories below the appropriate Categories, and when you have everything arranged in the menu that you want you save the menu.

    4. Go to the “theme location” module at upper left on the menu page. Select your custom menu name from the pull-down labeled “primary location.” Click the save button in that module.

    5. Refresh your browser so that it isn’t possibly pulling a cached page, and view see your new menu with Parent pages and dropdowns to sub-pages.

Hi Timethief, thanks for your replies.

I guess you are correct in your replies above even if i find that behaviour strange. I definitely think my blog uses should be pointed to my blog when clicking the category URL listed on the main page. Any way, i have found an easy way to change this in the admin control. It seems like the “Integrity” setttings acctually influence the behaviour of the Category URL listed on Main Page. When using default “Integrity” settings the URL points to wordpress global listings i.e http://sv.wordpress.com/tag/test_1/. But if you instead change the integrity settings
to block search engines and only allow “common users” the URL is acctually pointed
    to your own blog.
If you check my blog now and click the Category below the post on Main page the URL acctually points to my blog, not wordpress global :)
