category vs. page

I am designing a wellness blog and I want ‘lifestyle’ to be at the top in my main menu and when you hover over that-have beauty, travel, and wellness drop down from that. I also want Eats to be in the main menu with breakfast, lunch, and dinner dropping down from that in the main menu. If I am making posts should my main menu (Eats, Lifestyle) be pages or categories? and should the subcategories that will drop down from those be pages or categories? I don’t know how to make my posts go to the exact places I want them (for example how to make a breakfast post go to the breakfast category, but also if you click on just eats in the main menu have it be there as well)

You can create your menu menu using categories. All(Eats, beauty, travel, and wellness,Lifestyle,breakfast, lunch, and dinner ) will be categories no pages.
While creating menu you can drag menu items for main menu.See below article on how to create menu and submenu.

thats what I have done so far, but the problem I am running into is when I click on the category the way the posts are laid out isn’t very appealing to the eye. I have see you can adjust the way the posts are played out on a page but how do you do it for a category?
