Category widget dropdown doesn't work

    I have categories defined. I have categories attached to posts. The category widget is in the Twenty Sixteen theme’s sidebar. Clicking on the dropdown does nothing.

    I also noticed that the Archive widget dropdown doesn’t work either. I’m beginning to suspect that dropdown widgets either are not compatible with the theme, or they don’t work on blogs hosted by wordpress.com. My work-around is a custom menu.

    Some clarification will be greatly appreciated.

    One more thing: The count for the category I used is set at 0. Shouldn’t it be 1 as it is attached to 1 post?
