Category will not delete

  I have a number of categories, one of which is redundant, however the option to delete this category is not available.

  All other categories, including ‘uncategorized’ offer the delete button underneath the category title, except this one.

  This is ruining the appearance of the category list in the sidebar of the site.

  I have named the category ‘delete me!’. Please can you assist me in deleting this category?

  It looks like the “Delete Me!” category is set as the default category in Settings → Writing. Changing that to another category will allow you to delete the “Delete Me!” category.
