Category Won't Work

    Hi! I don’t even know if this support can help me because my site is a wordpress.org site but I’m gonna give it a shot anyways! So my problem is that my ‘couture’ category on my site won’t click. Like the keyboard capitol ‘I’ symbol shows up when I hover over it instead of the normal mouse arrow and it won’t let me click the title to open up the category. I know there are posts there and when I compare the categories they all look the same so I don’t know what I did wrong on this category that isn’t wrong on the others. Could you help?

    pearlsandpoloblog.com is a wordpress.ORG software install on paid hosting hosted by Bluehost. not by wordpress.com.

    It is not on our wordpress.COM servers and we cannot help you here at all. You are posting to the wrong support forum.

    We provide support only for wordpress.COM hosted sites. Our support docs do not apply to
    (1) local installs of wordpress.ORG software on your own server or
    (2) wordpress.ORG software installs on paid hosting, and we do not provide support for them at wordpress.COM.

    Also, note that we do not provide Jetpack support https://jetpack.com/support/ for sites linked to wordpress.COM accounts with the Jetpack plugin so they display on the My Sites wordpress.com account page.

    WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums.     As you are referring to a site that is not hosted here, if you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right-hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.

    That menu item is missing the href portion of the link, that’s why it’s not clickable:

    <a title="fashion">Couture</a>

    It should be:

    <a title="fashion" href="http://pearlsandpoloblog.com/?cat=XX">Couture</a>

    Where XX is the Couture category ID.

    I’d suggest going into your menu under Appearance > Menus and re-adding that item to your custom menu.

    As a side note, if you want nice links like http://pearlsandpoloblog.com/category/couture you can look into turning on Pretty Permalinks.

    As timethief mentioned, and as you realize, these forums are for sites hosted on WordPress.com, but you’re running the WordPress software on your own hosting.
