cdn.api twitter Share This
-
Over the last week, and it seems to be happening more as each day passes. I get “cdn.api twitter” (bottom left hand side) showing that the page has not fully loaded. This can happen to any WordPress site I look at. I’ve tried looking with two laptops and it’s the same on both. I use Google Chrome. Has anyone else had this problem?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m not seeing that, but I’d imagine it could be related to something you’re loading from twitter. Which page do you see that on? I don’t see that particular source loading on my end.

Every post that has the, Twitter Share this: on it. Not just on my site but every WordPress site that I look at with two different laptops. Tonight I deleted the Twitter Share this button and all pages loaded ok, as soon as I activated the button again the problem came back. While I’ve been typing this I tried again on my other laptop and it took around 3 minutes for the page loading wheel to stop (Google Chrome), and the “Waiting for cdn.api twitter” to disappear. Once in a Blue moon the pages load straight away, but this seems very rare now.

Typically I’ve just tried opening a few post again, and each one open ok, this is what makes it so confusing, how it can be ok for a while and then start playing up again. Waited a couple of minutes and the problem returns! Also noticed its not showing the number of Twitter likes when I know there are some.

I’ve been having the same issueon tor.com. cnd.api.twitter just hangs. Sometimes it will connect after several minutes, more often it will just keep waiting and waiting and waiting.
-
I’m now finding it’s happening more and more, it’s very rare for any WordPress page with the Twitter Share this, to load OK now.
-
I’m seeing this too! We’re talking that it takes minutes, not seconds, to finish loading a page. Hopefully it’s a Twitter thing and will get resolved soon.

Hi there, I’ve visited a number of posts on @retroracers and on @percysowner site and I am not seeing any hanging at a twitter load. The posts load as they should for me.
Are you still experiencing this? If so, can you try connecting from a different internet connection and see if you also see the issue on the different connection? Also if you could, try a different browser on your site and see if it is hanging there also.
Let me know the outcome. It will help in trying to troubleshoot this issue.

The posts started loading perfectly for me today. This was no only happening on WP but on sites across the Internet. I personally contacted other sites about the problem as well as yours and I’m guessing that someone got a hold of Twitter and fixed the problem from that end.

I’m still having the same issue, sometimes it loads ok, but most of the time it doesn’t. Over the past week I’ve tried it a few times on Internet Explorer instead of Chrome that I normally use. It did seem to load ok with Internet Explorer. This made me wonder if there was an issue between Chrome and the Twitter share this. I’ll try a different internet connection as soon as I can. Thanks.

Retroracers’ post just jogged my memory that I haven’t updated Chrome in a while, so I did … and the problem appears to be solved. It may be just a coincidence, but give this a try and see if it helps you.

I’ve checked Chrome on both my laptops and I have the latest version.
Still hanging on Chrome this morning, but appears to load on Internet Explorer ok. But I did notice on Internet Explorer that its not showing and numbers on the Twitter share this, although I know there are at least one on every post. It’s the same when I looked with my Ipad, no Share this numbers showing.
While I was out this morning I had a very quick chance to look at the site using a different internet connection and laptop using Internet Explorer, it seemed to load ok, but like mine at home it didn’t show any Twitter share this numbers.

I am having this same problem (paulakluth.com) – so frustrating! I first noticed this on Sept 24, and it only happens on my “blog” page (with excerpts). The page takes easily 5+ minutes to fully load, and the behavior is the same on Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. All other pages load quickly in all browsers. When I click to view an actual blog post, the page with the post loads fine.
To make matters worse, one of my sidebar plugins does not load until the Twitter call is complete.
As far as I know, there are no Twitter components to be loaded on the main blog page.

Hi all, I’m having trouble getting this to occur on my Mac in Safari, Chrome and Firefox. They all work fine with no delay and the number of tweets show up. I’ve asked one of my one of my team to try and reproduce this behavior so that we can have our developers look into it.

Note to all, I’ve moved this thread to the Support forum since it isn’t a Customization issue.

I think this may have been a twitter issue that Twitter fixed. I was having problems on several sites that didn’t seem to be WordPress site with the cdn.api.twitter not loading, but today they are running fine. You may not be able to reproduce it because it got fixed? I’m no longer having a problem.
