cell phone log in
-
This has happened to me in the past. I can’t log in on my cell using chrome or the app when I try to like or comment on a site where WordPress is not the host. For example,
Jill’s Book Cafe. https://wordpress.com/read/feeds/118147554. Like the last time, I am fine on the laptop.WP.com: Yes
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hey there @neesrecordaolcom, I think we might have just been getting to it when you replied to it. Sorry about that!
– Are you logged in with your browser?
– Are you liking and commenting from within the reader, or are you navigating to the site first?
– What error do you get?
-
Also — that particular site is hosted here. Is it giving you trouble, or did you need help with another?
-
Maybe I don’t know why, but there are a few sites that my cell says I need to add my email and blog site. Jill’s is one of them
-
It says I’m not logged in only on a few sites. And neither the browser or the app log me in. Or I should say, I can get to my site but it doesn’t show the usual icons. For instance I can’t write or answer notifications.
-
If you can’t write or see notifications, you’re not properly logged into WordPress.com.
Looking at your previous issue with this 11 months ago, the problem appeared with your login authorization.
If you can go to this page and click the “log out” button: https://wordpress.com/me
Then go here and click “log in”: https://wordpress.com/
That should take care of that for you. Let us know if you still have trouble.!

I was excited thinking this would work but it didn’t. I do remember something like this fixed the problem last time. I logged out and clicked the link you attached to log in but I’m still not fully on my site. Meaning I can’t see my profile pic. And, still can not go from aol to the sites to comment. I still get a log in message. And they are still asking for my email address and website.
-
It sounds like you have some security settings or something on your device not saving your login authorization token. Since the problem is isolated to your cell, there’s not much we can do on our end if logging out and back in doesn’t resolve it.
Check your device settings and look for anything that would not allow third-party cookies (which is the login token) or anything else that would prevent you from using a website.
Also, try using wifi if you normally use cellular data, or vice versa – just use a connection you don’t normally use to see if it’s a service provider issue.
I hope that helps!

Due to your response I thought of something else. On my cell trying to fix this problem I kept resetting a new password. It would work once but only once. This led me to do it again until I figured out that wasn’t working. Does this help you figure out my problem.
-
Also, can someone send me a link where I can find my username and password. Wondering if I know what works I can try that on my cell.

We don’t have any place where you could view your current password, but since you’re already logged in under your username
neesrecordaolcom, I would recommend you set a new password here, then try that on your cell once you confirm the change.https://wordpress.com/me/security
Hope that helps!

Ok now I’m not logged into my laptop. I’m a senior wondering what have I done. Any suggestions?
-
Hi! Let’s work through these issues one at a time.
Meaning I can’t see my profile pic.
It looks like you deleted it at some point. Can you upload a new one here?
https://wordpress.com/meClick on the picture to change it. It may take a little time for that to take full effect, but that should help the picture show up.
Also, if there is any chance you have more than one account, let us know.

ok, now i am signed in on my laptop and cell. but still on my cell certain sites are requesting, my email, website, and name. Besides Jill, there is also Paula @https://bookjotter.com/category/book-reviews/ The members know me.
1) Can you guess why only certain sites are causing the issues?
2) now that I can log in on my phone what else can I do besides login and log out to fix the problem? As always, grateful for the help.

Hello there,
but still on my cell certain sites are requesting, my email, website, and name.
What are these sites in particular you’re looking to comment on exactly?
If you’re able to provide URLs, we can take a closer look and find a common denominator. It sounds like they may be not hosted with WordPress.com perhaps.
-
I mentored this one and Jill’s Cafe. https://bookjotter.com/category/book-reviews/
I sure hope you can help.
