Centering content

    Hi. I’m very new to WordPress and I’m using a custom Genesis child theme developed by my friend who initially set up my site. It seems like there is extra width in the site (if you ‘scroll left to right’ you’ll see the extra width I’m talking about on the right side). I can’t seem to align the content in the center. It will only align to left or right when I control the float. I tried align-content: center; and this has no impact. I have a feeling that the extra width creates problem for alignment, however, even with the extra width, the header and footers are full-width and the way they should be. Any insight would be greatly appreciated! My site is papernarrative.com

    Aligns to the right:
    .content {
    float: right;
    max-width: 800px;
    }
    Aligns left:
    .content {
    float: none;
    max-width: 800px;
    align-content: center;
    }

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    I fixed the extra width… caused by not having a max-width specified for the title but just width. I still cannot align the content to center.
