Centering layout

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi!
    I’ve just edited my layout, and in the process I’ve managed to do something to my theme – It’s on the left side.
    I would like it to be centered on the screen. I’ve tried to do my best to figure out what I’ve done wrong/removed from my CSS…
    Can anyone help me? :-)
    Thank you.

    There is no staff support for editing CSS and the two members who do choose to answer CSS questions do not appear to be online at this time. That means you will have to patiently wait for one to log in and see this thread.

    Nice job on the theme! From my little CSS knowledge and using Firebug it appears to be a container positioning issue (you have an absolute position with a 50px left margin), but I have now idea how to fix it.

    Thank you husdal!

    I’ve now figured it out! I’ve read through a lot of forums – though, did not find it here.

    The solution was to center the text alignment in the #body, left in the #container (i don’t want centered text). And the trick that really did the work was

    position: relative;
    margin:0 auto;

    in the #container.

    I hope this will help someone that may stuggle with the same thing as myself. :-)
