Centering Page Content & Navigation: Twenty-Ten Theme

    Hello Amigos,

    Can someone please help me with centering all the content on my page?

    Thank you forever!

    Also, does anyone know how I an remove the black line that runs at the bottom of my page?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    To remove the black line you’d add this:

    #colophon {
        border: 0 none;
    }

    As for the content, I’m seeing you’ve added a blank widget. Do you want to remove the sidebar? If so, do you want the main content to take up the whole width of the theme, or do you want it to remain as wide as it is now? And if so, why do all this on 2010 instead of using a theme that has no sidebar?

    Hi justpi!

    Thanks for being willing to help!

    I added the blank widget because I wanted to get rid of the admin login and thought that was the way around it.

    I’m looking to make the content to remain as wide as it is now. The reason I chose 2010 was because I thought it had the most support or at least the theme seemed to appear the most on google search (*noob*).

    But, basically I’m looking for a very clean website-much of what I have right now in terms of design. Perhaps there are better options for themes for what I’m trying to do?

    Again, thanks for dialogue/help!

    You’re welcome.

    Adding a blank widget is the way to remove the default sidebar items when you don’t have the Custom Design upgrade; when you have the upgrade, you can remove whatever you like via CSS editing.

    There’s nothing special about 2010, and all free themes have the same kind of support (mostly by experienced volunteers in this forum). So for the moment I’ll stick to my original suggestion: start by checking the no-sidebar themes. See this post of mine, under “Sidebar optional” and “Bottom and/or header only”:
    http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2011/02/26/sidebars-and-other-widget-areas/
    But note the red note in my sidebar; for newer themes, check the Theme Showcase site:
    http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/sort/newest/
    Also, are you going to publish posts or only static pages? If you publish only pages, then a further group of themes might also do: those that support a no-sidebar template for static pages. See this post of mine (plus the Theme Showcase site for newer ones):

    Widgets on static pages or single posts

    Wow, your website is awesome! Thanks for directing me towards the appropriate links and themes.

    Pretty much, I’ll be having static pages. I’m contemplating whether or not to add a picture slider as a homepage…

    Either way, I definitely how to do some reading up through your site. I also found an earlier post specifically regarding center and removing sidebars in the twenty-ten theme.

    Anyways, thanks justpi-it’s evident that you are making a positive impact in our WP CSS community!
