Certificate not valid

  Hi,

  I have looked at related posts but I can’t find a solution.

  I get this error on my blog:

  Your connection is not private
  Attackers might be trying to steal your information from cinnamony.co.za (for example, passwords, messages or credit cards). Learn more
  NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID

  This server could not prove that it is cinnamony.co.za; its security certificate is from *.wordpress.com. This may be caused by a misconfiguration or an attacker intercepting your connection.

  How do I solve this?
  The domain name, cinnamony.co.za is mapped to my WordPress.com blog.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,

  This is because the SSL certificate for your domain has not been issued yet, because your domain wasn’t pointing to our servers at the time that you bought the domain mapping upgrade.

  I see you have since changed the name servers to point to us, but that change can take up to 72 hours to complete, and we’ll only be able to issue the SSL certificate once that’s done.

  Give it another day or so, and if your domain still gives an error if you try to access it over https, comment here and we can check again.

  Hi,

  I’ve waited more than 72 hours. It still redirects to http, and it shows that it is not secure.

  What must I do so that it shows https?
  I’m not having a very good experience with WordPress.com so far.

  Thanks. The SSL didn’t populate automatically like it usually does. I’m unsure as to what caused the glitch but just tried to provision one manually for the domain. Let’s see if that works. Otherwise our domain team will need to take a closer look at things.

  So must I wait another 72 hours or how long will it be until a change should take effect?

  No, not that long. Just a few hours, maybe… If you don’t see it fixed by morning write back to us here.

  Hi!

  I was told to ask my domain registrar to disable DNSSEC. They’ve done that and I replied to the email of WordPress.com on Wednesday already. However, it still shows as insecure & http.
  What’s going on?

  Hmmm…yeah, we received an error 3 days when attempting the SSL provision. I am going to try again now. We should know shortly if everything goes through successfully. Let me know if you are seeing the error on your end.
