Challenges with image captions on images I paste in from Flickr

I use Flickr to host most of my blog’s images. I copy and paste the Flickr embed code into my blog post’s HTML view, because this seems to give me best control over the image.

In the Visual view, when I click the image and click the icon to add a caption, the “Enter a caption” text appears under the image, but it is hyperlinked to the image. I don’t want it to be, but if I click the text and then click the X to remove the link, it also removes the link on the image itself. I want the image to be linked, but the caption not to be.

But a potential bug lurks in deleting the “Enter a caption” text here. I can’t reliably reproduce it, but about half the time any act of deleting that text also deletes the entire image. I end up having to go into HTML view to enter my caption and fix the hyperlinking.

This behavior does not happen ever with images I host at WordPress.com

    Can you review this?

    Thanks!

  • Have you tried using a different browser? I’m curious if the issue repeats itself.
