Change a file name

  Need to reset a file name.
  I have thousands of email references to a file. When I deleted and uploaded a new version, I can’t use the original name as referenced. the upload adds a number to the file, making all references invalid. I need to get a file by the original name loaded. listen3.pdf needs to be listen.pdf

  Hi Phil,

  In order to do this, you will need to first delete the duplicates of the file. WordPress.com automatically adds a number to media files to differentiate them from duplicates. So, the first step will be to delete listen.pdf, listen1.pdf, listen2.pdf, and listen3.pdf. Then, you should be able to upload the file again (file name: listen). This time, the file path should be /listen.pdf.
