change a post from being a re-blog to being an ordinary post
-
As I am unable to use the searchbox in this forum (are you changing things again ?), I must perforce put this question without checking to see if answers exist.
I reblogged someone’s post, as I often do, some weeks back.
Today I made a change to the appearance of my blockquotes.
This has made this re-blog look really weird. I want to use an image icon of her site with a link to this post instead of its being a reblog.
Is this possible, please ?The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there. When you try to edit a reblog you’ll see you can only edit the comment you included when reblogging. There’s no way to change it into a regular post by editing it. See: http://en.support.wordpress.com/reblogs/#can-i-edit-a-post-ive-reblogged
The only way to have it appear the way you want to is to create a new post, add the linked image to it and copy any comment you included with the reblog into the new post. In the publish module you can set the date and time to publish the replacement post at the same time of the original reblog if you want. Then delete the reblog.
The comment created on the other blog when you reblogged will not be deleted if you delete the reblog.

That’ll do me !! It never occurred to me that I could re-set the date and time. Sighhh …
MANY thanks, kokkieh !!! -
You’re welcome. You might even be able to get it to have the same URL as the original reblog. If the date’s the same you should be able to edit the slug (the part of the URL after the date) to be the same, so existing links to your reblog should go unaffected. I can’t guarantee it will work, but you can try.

While you’re there …
Are you seeing, supered up on the top left of this page, a dot-point lost that’s part of a menu …? -
Sorry for the delay. I went to bed shortly after my previous reply.
I do not see any stray dots in the top-left of your blog, no.

Commendable willingness to help, Titi !
But …
None of them tells me how to show an image someone in a forum.
I have no problems at all with images within a blog; see http://wp.me/p3ZISx-1mW -
-
Yup: post links to them where ? Oh, I think I remember now: is it that thing about tiny images …?
-
I read this thread and I cannot help you. You have apparently made some alterations that are causing issues I cannot assist you with.

@margaretrosestringer
Do you mean you want to show us a screenshot of what you see? You can upload the image to your media library and post the URL here, or simpler, copy-paste the image into http://snag.gy/ and then paste the URL that site generates here. But if this may have something to do with the customizations you’ve made it might be better to start a new thread in the CSS forum. (And that way someone in a different timezone might get their eyes on it as I’m once again on my way to bed :-D )

Thank-you, kokkieh ! – MOST useful, and precisely what I meant. Gracias and merci and danke and grazie ! :-)
As is normal with me, the problem has decided to go away (pro tem, I imagine); so I can no longer take that screen-grab. The next time I see it, I shall take it and copy it into snag.gy and whinge about it here. Again.
I shall, meanwhile, pass on this helpful info via my blog; because I know there are many more halfwits out there than merely this one.
[grin] -
Possibly it was something in your browser cache and when you refreshed at one point it got cleared out. Glad to help :)
