Where can I change my Password for my account?
I am able to edit my forum-profile, but it is not synchronized to my account’s password.
I fear, that I could never change my probably unsecure password.

Go to dashboard and then go to users. Towards the bottom right it asks to change password. But I see you might be usiging a hosted wordpress, so it might be different.

Sorry, I forgot to tell, that my blog no longer exists. So I will get this message at dashboard: “This user has elected to delete their account and the content is no longer available.”

The problem now is, that I have an account and cannot change my possibly unsecure password.

This has been brought up in the past and pointed out to Podz. Curently there is not an option. I would also like to see the ability to change the URL associated with the profile as well.

I suggest sending in an email to support at this domain explaining the situation and seeing if you can get some help in that method.

    Good luck,
    -drmike

    Person signs up, gets blog.
    Person deletes blog.
I’m not sure why the password becomes important?
There’s nothing to password is there?

They’re still using the account though to post comments at other blogs here at WP.com. (At least that’s what I think they’re doing.)

But anyone at all can post comment surely?

(It’s not that I won’t change passwords – I believe very much in strong passwords – it’s just that I can’t see the point here which is why I’m asking.)

Nope, you forget the option Dashboard -> Options -> General -> Membership -> “Users must be registered and logged in to comment” :)

    I did indeed :)
    That makes sense (sort of..)

wulfert – if that is the case, send in a feedback but it must come from the email address you are registered here with. If that cannot be done, I cannot alter the password.

A better option may be to just tie it into the forums here. I was rather surprised that the only tie in appears to be on account creation.

    Thank you very much.
Last week I filles the contact form at http://automattic.com/contact/ but I got no answer.
Meanwhile I found a solution. I used the lost password dialog and got a new randomly generated pass.
