change account primary email

Myu account info has gotten badly out of date. today I changed the account email to something that exists, big help!! that seems to have worked… although the confirmation link takes me to the settings but there is nothing to click to confirm it – it still says change pending.
also, apparently I have an additional account at my primary email , the account I use for everything:
(email visible only to moderators and staff)
what blog or blogs are associated with this account? I dont think there are any that are active. I dont know how to close it/them.

If you already have an account with your preferred email address, you will need to delete the existing account, or change the email address. Once your preferred email is no longer being used with the other account, you can update your email for your current account.
