  Hey I wanted to change the address name of my site. I want to keep my original WordPress, but have everything redirected to the new address. I have a free WordPress account for right now. Would I have to buy a new domain and redirect or is there another way?

  Hi there!

  The domain/subdomain is just an address so there is no need to transfer the content as everything stays in place, just with a different address.

  You can change your site’s free address but bear in mind that this is irreversible and you won’t be able to use the old address never again:

  https://wordpress.com/support/changing-site-address/

  You can also purchase a custom domain if you’d like to get rid of the .wordpress.com part of it:

  https://wordpress.com/support/domains/register-domain/

  Thank you, I just wanted to know if I would lose my search results that are in search engines like Google; will visitors be automatically redirected to the new address?

  Folks will be automatically redirected to the domain and search engine results will be updated.
