Change adress name

So I changed the name of my address but looking that up always redirects to the old name. Is there a certain period I should wait for for the changes to take effect? The menus make it seem as if it oughta be instant.

Forgot to say, prince0gotham is the old name. I also created a new user with the new name and I can log into that one but even that redirects me to this one.

Okay, prince0gotham.com is the old address -> changed that to gamesensus and created another user with that same name.
now gamesensus.com doesn’t open and gamesensus.wordpress.com redirects to prince0gotham.com. -

Currently, you have two sites on your account:
prince0gotham.wordpress.com
gamesensus.wordpress.com
The issue here is that the custom domain prince0gotham.com is linked with gamesensus.wordpress.com. So, whenever you try to visit gamesensus.wordpress.com, you’re being automatically redirected to prince0gotham.com. You can fix this by switching the primary domain here:
https://gamesensus.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domains
Then, you should see gamesensus.wordpress.com when you visit the site.
Going forward, we’ll need to decide what you want to do with prince0gotham.com. Did you want to keep that domain?

Hm, I was under the impression that changing the name would just change the name of the very domain I paid for and now I understand I’ve simply created another one that still has the -wordpress- in the address. If I disband the prince0gotham one can I apply its subscription to the new address and name?

To clarify, you no longer want the domain name prince0gotham.com. Instead, you would like to apply those funds to register the domain gamesensus.com. Is that correct? If so, I’ll remove prince0gotham.com and add credits to your account so you can register the new domain name.
Just a note, if we cancel prince0gotham.com, it will be sent back to the registrar and eventually could be purchased by someone else.

Yes, that’s what I want to do actually. Thanks in advance. Also btw, doing that won’t reset gamesensus and its settings right? As in layout and so on. It could be a stupid question but I gotta ask.

Nope – it shouldn’t change the layout! I went ahead and cancelled the domain prince0gotham.com, and added credits to your account so you could register the new domain name following the steps here:

A thousand thanks for the good work! I have only two questions now.
It seems the new subscriptions expires exactly one year from now and not one year from Feb 15, like it would’ve if prince0gotham.com was as it was. That’s normal right? As in, I basically received a free month here and I wanna know if the deadline is gonna move back to the old one.
Also, I registered the new domain by clicking on the privacy security… thingy… button… without reading much about it. Could you give me a proper link with info about it?

Your domain will be good through 3/11/16 (so a year from today)!
