Change appearance of previous/next post under current post
-
Hi All,
I’m using the Canard theme.
When I open a blog/post, then under the article I automatically get the ‘buttons’ for clicking on to the previous and next blog/post.
They appear in post format ‘Picture’ whilst they’re all set to post format ‘Standard’ (which should only give a thumbnail of the featured picture).
This results in very ugly appearance of a zoomed-in small section of the featured picture, that was never meant to be shown like that.Is there any way I can change this?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there – I only see one published blog post, and it’s set to Standard format:

If you’re referring to a different site, could you please point me to an affected post so I can take a look?

Hi there. It is exactly that example, look at the very bottom of the page.
There are two low-height but very wide pictures, which are buttons to the previous and next blog apparently.
The text says ‘Vorige’ and ‘Volgende’ which translates to ‘Previous’ and ‘Next’ in English.
These buttons come automatically; I didn’t add them or specify them there.
Can I disable them, or otherwise force them to show in their specified format (which is standard, not picture)? Thanks!

Ah, thanks for explaining more clearly what you’d like to hide!
If you’d like to remove the image backgrounds on that post navigation, you’d need some Custom CSS, which is available with the Premium or Business plans.
.post-navigation .nav-previous, .post-navigation .nav-next { background: none; }Alternatively, you could choose a theme that doesn’t include this effect as part of the post navigation’s design. If you need any help finding a different theme, just let me know and I’d be glad to suggest a couple.

Thanks. Yes, I’d be interested to hear a few suggestions.
I like the opening page of Canard, that is what basically attracted the most (the tile-idea). However, I’m already finding out that the limit of 5 for that is too little…Other thing which is important for any theme to choose, is that posts listed somewhere don’t show much more than the title, and perhaps some first sentences of the article, but NOT a huge amount of text.
Thanks again.

Sure – here are a couple of other free themes you might could look at:
Dyad 2 – https://dyad2demo.wordpress.com/ – supports up to 6 posts or pages in the Featured Content slider
Dara – https://darademo.wordpress.com/ – supports up to 6 posts or pages in the Featured Content slider. The demo shows a static homepage, but you can set your posts to display on the front page instead, with the slider above it.
Apostrophe 2 – https://apostrophe2demo.wordpress.com/ – supports up to 6 posts or pages as Featured Content
Let me know how it goes.

Hello, I’ve seen your blog and, are you still using Canard theme? I’m having the same problem as you but I can’t change it. I you changed to another theme, which are you using now? Thanks!

amozas – if you’re looking at scheppingscongres.wordpress.com, it’s currently running Apostrophe 2.
