change author name possible?

Is it possible to change the author’s name (or even add a new author) without modifying existing username or creating a new account (I think this is a bad idea).
Of course I can’t use my real name, someone already has it, but Id like to use my real name just on my blog not for login.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

When we register a username account we provide an email address and it becomes our unique identifier. When we are logged into WordPress.com every blog we register is registered to that same username. The alternative is to create a display name. It will display everywhere ie. on the blog and on comments, etc. except here in the forums. In the forums the original username and not display name will always be displayed.

No it isn’t. In order to completely separate the blogs that are not associated with each other you register another username account using a different email address when you are logged out of WordPress.com. Then you add the new username account as an official user of the blog, and designate them as an Admin. Next you transfer one of the blogs to the new username account using this process.
