Change Author's Name that Reflects in Posts' Permalinks
-
Hello. I’ve been meaning to change what seems to be the username that is automatically affixed to the links of my posts but I can’t find any set of instructions to teach me how to do it. In the past, it was the username I registered to WordPress that would appear in the permalinks but I recently changed my username in the hopes of also changing the one that reflects in the permalinks as the author of the posts. However, upon posting a test entry on my blog, I saw that the while my name (as the author) has been replaced, the old username is what appears in the permalinks. Can anyone teach me how to change it completely? I am only using WordPress.com and I’m not subscribed to any paid hosting sites.
Any kind of help will be appreciated. Thank you very much.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There is no content on the site wrestlewithwriting.wordpress.com
What is the URL of the WordPress.com site you need help with, starting with http:// to make it clickable?

Hello. Thank you for responding to my inquiry.
If you go to the WordPress site you’ll see that there are two test blog posts published. I believe the author’s name can be found in the page of the actual post. -
I see one post http://wrestlewithwriting.wordpress.com/2014/01/17/test-post/ and indeed the author name is visible there.
If you want to change the public Display Name (nickname) that appears on your site posts, you can do so in your User Settings https://wordpress.com/settings/public-profile/
Please also be aware that if you connect publicize to Google+, your real name as it appears on Google+ will appear rather than the display name.

Actually, what I want to change is the username that appears in the URL of the author’s name in the post. I’m not quite sure what it is called but the username I’m referring to is the one that appears after the “author/” http://example.wordpress.com/author/username/
Thank you for your time :)

Sorry for not picking up on that earlier. That link will always show your username, not the display name.
If you changed your username following these instructions http://en.support.wordpress.com/change-your-username/#change-username then it should have carried through to that link as well. Can I assume that you published that post after you changed your username? If so, I will tag this for Staff assistance.

Hello. Yes, I’ve changed my username using the instruction you sent. However, the username in the links for the blog authorship didn’t change. That was also why I posted a test entry, so that I could check whether it worked. Is this reparable? Thank you very much for your help.

Thanks for confirming that you published that post after you changed your username.

Hi Kim – That’s really odd. I’m asking our developers about this, I’ll let you know as soon as I have more information.
