Change Automated Title of Blog
-
Hi,
I have a blog named ‘Total Bradness.’ http://www.totalbradnessblog.wordpress.com.
I have a logo for my blog, and under my logo, I have a sentence theme for my blog that says ‘Life is Short, I Believe in Making the Most of It.’ So, my blog is recognized as ‘Life is Short, I Believe in Making the Most of It’ even though the real name is Total Bradness. All email notifications, the browser window, etc. have my blog name as ‘Life is Short, I Believe in Making the Most of It.’ How can I change that to ‘Total Bradness’ without getting rid of my theme sentence, ‘Life is Short, I Believe in Making the Most of It?’
ThanksThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
To change your site’s title and tagline you can go to My Site > Customize > Site Identity. Here’s a direct link to the Customizer:

If you have any other questions, just let me know and I’ll be happy to help.

This is how things are currently set up.
Site Title
Life is short, I believe in making the most of it.
Tagline
This is your place for inspiration, including DIY’s, life hacks, quotes, recommendations and reviews! You’ll also explore some of the coolest places and sites on earth and learn some pretty awesome facts along the way! Thanks for joining me!
What you currently have as the tagline could be added to your home page text which would free up the tagline for something else. Does that sound like what you’re trying to do?

OK, saying that I add the site title I have now to my tagline, am I still able to have what was the site title (Life is short, I believe in making the most of it.) in larger letters than the rest of the tagline?
Also, I have a logo that says ‘Total Bradness’ If I wrote ‘Total Bradness’ in the site title, then I would have my logo saying ‘Total Bradness’ as well as the words ‘Total Bradness.’ Is it possible to have my site title as ‘Total Bradness’ without the words ‘Total Bradness’ showing up under the logo?
-
The site title is going to be remain with the larger, bolded font. This will be true regardless of what “text/words” you put there.
The tagline will display directly underneath the site title as you see now – again, this is regardless of what “words” you put there.
Does that help?
It’s also possible to have a site title and tagline but not display them on the site. You’ll see a little check box at the bottom of the Site Identity section in the Customizer.
Feel free to play around with what is there you can see the changes live through the Customizer.

Hi @bradbenjamins, you can leave the site title in place if you’d like, then uncheck “Display Site Title and Tagline” . The only problem is it won’t display the tagline. I hope that’s okay!

If you need to display the tagline, but not the title, you have a few options:
– Do it with CSS (you’d need an upgraded plan that supports Custom Design)
or
– Include the tagline in your logo
I hope this helps!

One other thing that *might* work — we have a few themes that have an image with some text above the rest of the site, like this one:
