Change back to http from https
-
About 2 weeks ago my ability to repost automagically from a 3rd party content curator to my site was interrupted. The site was http and is now https and the curator reports they can no longer post the articles. How do I reset the site to an http site?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

WordPress.com started rolling our https to all the sites and blogs on its network. So it is not possible to revert to http.
There have been many users reporting some issues that arose due to https. Staff are aware of some issues and are working on them.

This is crazy that our blogs are changed without our permission. I do not want Https. I just don’t. It is screwing with everything. My blogs need to load as Http. I don’t understand this change.

Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) is a secure version of the Hyper Text Transfer Protocol (HTTP). When a user connects to a website via HTTPS, the website encrypts the session with a Digital Certificate.
-
Data sent between browsers and web servers is sent in plain text—leaving you vulnerable to browser “eavesdropping”. The personal information is then used to access the individual’s account and can result in identity theft and financial loss. Using HTTPS allows sensitive information such as credit card numbers, social security numbers, passwords, and login credentials to be transmitted securely.

nana chuck ., I agree, just leve my stuff alone. It was working great and I did not have a problem to solve.

AGREElt looks more like the fetish for bloatware continuing to me,
(like the drag’n’drop bloatware to add reddit or tumblr buttons, which would be a lot easier with a checkbox-list form and nonce for older pcs)lt would also have been nice to have an admin notice within the dashboard so we didn’t have to waste so much time running around the internet searching for answers that can’t be found. Neither does this answer show in support or forum search results.

This site is a wp site with the vanity url upgrade,
and still shows in HTTP, not https.

l understand the ‘credit-card’ argument, but surely disrupting so many ‘community-announcements’, cooking-recipes, general-chat and hobby blogs that DO NOT use credit cards on them, it would surely make much more sense to link out of http pages/dashboards to https pages instead, or at least place an option in the dashboard with a warning message to select blogs as either http or https. Why annoy so many?

I am not concerned about “eavesdropping” However, if I was it should be my choice and my choice alone to revert to https, not anyone else’s. I find it very annoying to be “forced” into this, when it’s not what I want. I think the easy solution is to make the option of either https or http, to be selected by the author, not done as a whole to the entire WordPress community. Just put it in settings as an option. But, let us decide!

Yes l fully agree Nanandchuck.
l also notice wp hasn’t transfered ‘support’ and ‘forums’ over to https either, if https is the ‘hot-shit’ they think it is, l would have thought wp forums and support would get changed first.
