  How do I change the background color of drop down menu on Appetite Theme?

  I think this is what you are looking for.

  #masthead.scroll-header .main-navigation ul ul {
      background: #ff69b4;
  }

  You can replace #ff69b4 with the color code of your choice. To find more color codes you can have a look at https://www.w3schools.com/colors/colors_picker.asp

  To add custom CSS

  Select Appearance > Customize > CSS from your Admin Dashboard and enter the custom CSS there.

  I just had another look at your site sonomalgbtqigiving.org and noticed that the CSS I gave you only changes the desktop view.

  To also change the mobile menu background you can add the following line to your custom CSS.

  .inner-panel {
      background-color: pink;
  }
