Change background colors

  How can I change the background color of

  1. the posts
  2. the left sidebar
  3. the right sidebar

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi,

  The six palettes available at Customize > Colors & Backgrounds that I mentioned in your topic Change size of post title each feature a different background color and widget text color, but the background color of widgets will be the same as the background color on the rest of the site with these options. Also, Twenty Sixteen doesn’t have a left sidebar widget area.

  To have the background of widget areas a different color than the background on the rest of the site would require the Custom Design upgrade. See the Custom Colors support page.

  I’m still a bit unclear about how to change the background color of my posts — and only my posts. Is that what I would have to get the Custom Design upgrade to do?

  Yes, custom CSS would be needed to make that change and this feature is available through our Premium and Business plans.

  The colour palettes in Customise > Colours & Backgrounds can only be used to change the background colour of the site, not individual posts.
