change background colour in coraline theme
-
hi, I’m struggling to change background colour for a specific page in coraline.
I’ve tried following for changing entire theme bg:
body {background-color:#b0c4de;}but that doesn’t work.
if it did, I’d be able to specify:
body-page-140 {background-color:#b0c4de;}
any suggestions?

It might save a great deal of time to have a list or guide for parameters that can be changed within a given theme.
I found this page, and that may be what I’m looking for, only I don’t yet have enough knowledge/experience of CSS to be able to figure it out.
Meanwhile, still trying to change page-specific background colour and page titles for that matter…

The first item you pasted will work if you go to Appearance > Background and clear the color you’ve set there.
The second won’t work because the selector is wrong. Needs to be:
.page-id-140 { background-color: #b0c4de; }To change the color of the page title, you need this:
.page-id-140 .entry-title { color: #123456; }General suggestion: learn to use Firebug.

justpi,
You’ve got me out of a fix again – many thanks.
Firebug now up and running within Firefox – I had been working in Safari and Chrome, but it now looks like there’s a much better way of doing things.
thanks again.
