Change background colour of the flyout menu in Talon theme

  The flyout menu in Talon is a default black colour and appears to be over-riding the WP MegaMega area. How do I get rid of the nasty black shadow that is the result of creating a mega menu? I have tried to change the CSS in the Talon theme but without success. I am unsure if I am changing the right CSS coding because nothing appears to be working. Perhaps this is not evben the right way to get a nice white background to the mega menu?? Please help.
