  Hi, yes you should be able to change the background color while on a free plan. Navigate to My Site → Design → Customize → Colors & Backgrounds.

  Hi there,

  This depends on your theme. Not all themes support custom backgrounds.

  The Hever theme you have active currently doesn’t support that – you can only change the background for specific sections of content in your posts/pages themselves by using the Cover block, or otherwise using custom CSS on our Premium Plan or higher.

  If you want to look at changing to a theme that does support custom backgrounds, you can look in the theme showcase using this filter:
