Change backround colour of slide show in Adelle theme
-
Hi,
Can somebody help me with my little problem? I have my portfolio as a slideshow and I want to change the backround colour from dark grey to the same grey which is in the backround of my widget. (How can I find out the colour code of this light grey?)
Thanks a lot in advance!

I used the web inspector built into my browser and found that the body background color is #ffffff (white). I then used the web inspector and found that there is a background color and a border color for the slideshow in .slideshow-window. The slideshow CSS has a slightly higher priority than the custom CSS, so I had to add the !important keyword so that the new color settings would override the existing. This is what I came up with.
.slideshow-window { background-color: #fff !important; border-color: #fff !important; }If you are not familiar with the web inspector in your browser, take a look at our support page on How to Find Your Theme’s CSS where you will find some brief screencasts to get you started with it. I find it an invaluable tool when working with CSS.

Thank you very much! Everytime I would like to change something I try to find out by myself what to change…but sometimes I dont find it. I already use the webinspector, but I dont know the codes that must be written additionally.
I’ll give you an example: at the moment I struggle with “comment” box under the slidshows. I dont want them there. So I started to find out what to change in the webinspector, I marked it and got the css:.wf-active #respond #reply-title {
}I tried the following text to hide it:
.wf-active #respond #reply-title {
appearance: none
}But that doesnt work. I tried a few others…without succes. How can I find solutions for such problems by myself without asking the forum?
And…bytheway :-) I have another question: is it possible for the sites with slideshow to hide the side menu and have the pictures full size?
Thanks a lot! :-D

Yeah, sometimes it takes a little detective work and some trial and error, and just some experience to know what has to be done, and I get have to search around and play with things sometimes too, even with 8 years of web design and CSS experience.
In this case, with the comments on the portfolio pages, we can handle this without any CSS. If you open your portfolio pages in the page editor, ,click on the “Screen Options” button at upper right and activate the “Discussion” module. Then scroll down below the text box and you will find the discussion module. Uncheck both comments and trackbacks/pingbacks and then update the page. Do that with each portfolio page and the comments box will be gone.
