Change Blog Address

  Hi All
  My primary blog address is http://planetbudge1970.wordpress.com/ which points to “planetbudge.com” after I purchased the Domain upgrade. No issue with that.

  However, as my site has evolved, I notice that Google still shows layouts, styles and content from over 12 months ago. I understand that you guys have no control over Google caching and indexing methods. I’d prefer users get a file not found ‘404’ error
  rather than seeing outdated styles and content.

  So my question is: Can I transfer my blog to “planetbudge.com” and make it the Primary blog? I would like to delete the “planetbudge1970.wordpress.com” account

  You are domain mapping from http://planetbudge1970.wordpress.com to http://planetbudge.com/ and there must be an underlying .wordpress.com blog to domain map from.   As timethief explained, if you are hosting a blog at WordPress.com there must be a WordPress.com blog address/underlying blog.

  To improve your search engine results, you might try authenticating your blog with Google Webmaster Tools:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/
